Identifying Your Fogstar Drift Battery: Understanding the PIN, Serial Number, and MAC Address

From January 2026, all Fogstar Drift battery deliveries will include a small update to the physical battery identification labels. You may notice a slight change compared to earlier batteries. This update is designed to support secure first-time connection through the Fogstar App, helping customers get connected safely and confidently from the start.

Every Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 Leisure Battery includes a set of unique identification codes printed on white labels located on the lid of the battery. These codes are essential for secure app access, accurate battery identification, and aftersales support.

The Identifiers on Top of the Battery

On the top of your Fogstar Drift battery, you’ll find a set of identifiers used by the Fogstar App and our support team.

These include:

• PIN code - used for secure access in the Fogstar App
• Serial data - used for battery identification and aftersales support
• MAC address - used to identify and connect to the correct battery

Together, these identifiers help ensure secure app access, accurate battery identification, and smooth product support.

PIN Code: Secure Access via the Fogstar App

The PIN code is used as the password when connecting to your battery through the Fogstar App.

When you connect to the battery for the first time, the app will prompt you to enter this PIN. This helps ensure that only authorised users can access battery information and settings.

Key points to remember:

• The PIN is required during the initial connection
• The PIN should be kept safe for future access
• Once connected, the PIN can be changed at any time within the Fogstar App

To update the PIN, open the Fogstar App, go to Advanced Settings, and select the option to change the battery PIN code.

Serial Data: Production and Test Information

The serial data contains the battery’s individual production and test information.

This allows Fogstar to view manufacturing and quality control records specific to your battery if support or warranty assistance is required.

No action is needed from the user, but this identifier is important for:

• Battery verification
• Aftersales support
• Warranty assistance

MAC Address: Identifying the Correct Battery

The MAC address is a unique communication identifier used by the Fogstar App to locate and connect to the correct battery.

This is particularly useful when multiple Fogstar batteries are nearby. The MAC address is also embedded within the QR code, allowing for quick and accurate identification using the scan feature in the Fogstar App.
